According to ESPN on Wednesday, the 25-year-old is due to appear in Guernsey County Court on February 16 after being indicted by a grand jury.

Authorities say Sills forced his victim into sexual activity against his will. An investigation was launched soon after by the local police.

The native of Sarahsville, a municipality in the same state, would normally have accompanied his teammates to Glendale, Arizona, where they have an appointment with the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII. However, Philadelphia put his name on Commissioner Roger Goodell’s exemption list after his indictment.

As a result, he risks receiving a ban from training, playing and traveling with the rest of the club.

In the regular season, Sills played only one game. Having signed a contract last April with the Eagles, he attended West Virginia University from 2016 to 2019.
