American actress Lisa Loring, who played Wednesday Addams as a child in the 1960s TV series The Addams Family died Saturday of a stroke at the age of 64, according to American social networks and media.
The death of Lisa Loring, revealed overnight from Sunday to Monday by the specialized media variety and by CNN, citing his agent, has some resonance in the US and Europe due to the new series on Netflix, Wednesdayby Tim Burton with Jenna Ortega.
“It is with great sadness that I announce the death of our friend Lisa Loring,” wrote a producer and close friend of the deceased, Laurie Jacobson, on Facebook, citing a serious cerebrovascular accident (CVA) due to the smoking and hypertension.
On an artificial respirator for a few days, her family made the decision to let her die on January 28. According to Mme Jacobson, “she will remain Wednesday Addams, forever inscribed in pop culture and in our hearts”.
Born in 1958 in the Marshall Islands, Lisa Ann DeCinces, whose real name was, began a career as a child model at the age of three, before playing little Wednesday in the TV series The Addams Family in 1964. Her best-known role, which she resumed when she was older in 1977.
This famous family, imagined in drawings in American newspapers in 1938 by Charles Addams, then experienced several adaptations, including the hit film The Addams Family in 1991 with Christina Ricci in the role of Wednesday, as well as the recent series Wednesday from Netflix.
