The strike in the childcare centers has gone on long enough

Everyone agrees with the demands of early childhood educators, namely to obtain a salary and decent working conditions for the invaluable work they do, day after day: to allow children to develop well, for families in Quebec. to maintain an honorable standard of living (not always), for mothers to be fulfilled at work in the same way as their spouses, for society to keep the economy going, etc. The current conflict, however, has reached its limits. There, that’s enough: the parents are “burned”, and the grandparents often just as much, for the families which can count on this support …

What if the government accepted the last stumbling demands, namely to respond to the demands of support staff, would it be so bad? What if the government explained to the population, already largely in favor of the current public management of the CAQ, that a change of direction is indeed necessary in our childcare settings, since it has stalled for so long under other government teams? What if the government explained to the population that social choices are made based on our common values, which does not mean that all negotiations in the public service would be resolved in the same way? You have to look through the telescope as much behind as in front. When we look in the rearview mirror of the childcare services, we are sorry. The living environments of our young children deserve to be taken care of… Educators aged 0-5, overwhelmingly women, are as (if not more) important than university professors. So the strike, please end it as soon as possible.
