Quebec | Man dies after collision, coroner’s office to investigate

(Montreal) A 41-year-old man died after an accident involving three cars in Quebec City. The collision, however, would not be involved in this drama. A Coroner’s Office inquest will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Police officers from the Service de police de la Ville de Québec (SPVQ) were called to the intersection of avenue Sainte-Thérèse and rue Seigneuriale around 6:55 p.m. between three vehicles.

The driver of one of the vehicles, a 41-year-old man, was unconscious when help arrived. The paramedics carried out resuscitation maneuvers on the man. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to the analysis of the scene and the account of the witnesses met, the accident would not be involved in this death, indicates the SPVQ in a press release.

A first impact would have been caused by the victim’s vehicle which would have started to back up. A second impact would have occurred while a car was trying to avoid the victim’s car.

The SPVQ is investigating this event in collaboration with the Bureau du coroner.
