Agricultural producers ask snowmobilers to avoid their land

The various owners of private land and agricultural land once again call on snowmobilers to show respect so that they do not damage their property.

The Association of Lawn Producers of Quebec (APGQ), the Quebec Association of Nursery Producers (AQPP) and the Association of Christmas Tree Producers of Quebec (APANQ) are asking snowmobilers to use roads that are signposted to avoid crop damage.

“Several of these plants are in the dormant stage during the winter period and must be protected by the natural snow cover. Thus the passage of these vehicles can cause considerable damage to the plantations and generate significant financial losses for the producers”, can we read in a press release sent by the various associations.

These are a reminder that snowmobilers have access to 33,000 kilometers of marked and safe trails.
