A wind of change is blowing over the artistic direction of theaters in Quebec at the end of the year.
The Théâtre Prospero announced this week the appointment of Vincent de Repentigny as co-general manager of the Montreal company. Much appreciated in the community for his work as director of La Serre – arts vivant and at the OFFTA festival, Mr. de Repentigny will work closely with Philippe Cyr, the new artistic director who succeeds Carmen Jolin. He will take office in January 2022.
Across the river, in Longueuil, the Théâtre de la Ville welcomes three new faces to its management team. The director Éric Jean, who was at the helm of the Théâtre de Quat’Sous until 2016, has just started his mandate as co-artistic director (theater, dance and storytelling component). He will be accompanied by Fanny St-Amand who worked at Star Academy. She will take the reins as artistic co-direction for music, circus and humor, from January 4; as well as Richard Piquet, who will be the new technical director of the Théâtre de la Ville. The latter worked for 15 years at Cirque du Soleil at TOHU, in particular.
