[PHOTOS] Saint-Jacques-le-Mineur: he dies trapped in his burning car

A motorist died horribly, stuck in his vehicle in flames after leaving the road, Tuesday at the beginning of the afternoon, in Saint-Jacques-le-Mineur, in Montérégie.

Around 1:15 p.m., the driver of the white BMW reportedly overtook before losing control of his car, at kilometer 28 of Highway 15 South.

The car left the road before crashing violently into a row of trees on the edge of the expressways.

The driver, who was alone on board, remained stuck in his vehicle which caught fire following the impact.

Saint-Jacques-le-Mineur firefighters were dispatched to the scene to bring the blaze under control, but it was too late. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

An accident scene investigator from the Sûreté du Québec was dispatched to the scene to try to establish the cause and circumstances of this fatal road trip.
