Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin was released from hospital on Wednesday, more than a week after suffering cardiac arrest and requiring resuscitation on the field during a game in Cincinnati. Doctors said he had successfully completed a series of medical tests.
A Bills press release quoted Dr Jamie Nadler as saying, “We have completed a series of medical tests and assessments and, in partnership with team doctors, have agreed that Damar can be discharged in peace.” “. Nadler added that Hamlin will continue his rehabilitation with the Bills.
Hamlin will therefore return home after spending two days undergoing medical tests at Buffalo General Hospital. He had been transferred to Buffalo on Monday, after spending the last week at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where the 24-year-old from Pittsburgh had experienced “a remarkable recovery” according to doctors.
The announcement of his leave came as the Bills returned to practice for Sunday’s playoff game against the Miami Dolphins.
