If Sophie Brochu is “a natural and dynamic leader, an inspiration to many” (Pierre Fitzgibbon), why does she not remain at the head of Hydro-Québec? If it has “contributed to the public sector”, one wonders for what logical reason one would deprive oneself of this contribution. There is at least a contradiction here.
The resigning president had recently mentioned a “renewed interest in discussing the use of electricity and the future of our Crown corporation”. She added that, “regardless of viewpoints, this conversation is healthy and necessary.” It is a sad day for Quebeckers that the conversation about their energy and the way we manage it is no longer healthy or necessary.
