“clowning is not a job”

Being an actor allows you to earn a decent living and even more. But to get there, it requires a lot of sacrifices and above all, talent. Indeed, many try to become actors and work for several years to achieve this, sometimes… never landing the role that will make their career take off. It is partly for this reason that parents are sometimes pessimistic when children tell them of the desire to become an actor. And it is probably not Gérard Jugnot who will say the opposite.

Like almost everyone, the father of the 71-year-old actor has always been skeptical about his choice of life. It was last December 20, when Gérard Jugnot was invited toRTL to promote his new film, The little sparrow, that he evoked his relationship with his father. And it is not for nothing that this relationship was evoked, given that the film speaks of the beginnings of the artists, a theme that inspires him and sends him back to his own history.

Gérard Jugnot’s father, not convinced

Before becoming the actor everyone knows, Gérard Jugnot first had to “beat” with his father, very skeptical of the idea that his son will take the path of comedy. “I heard my father say to me: ‘Acting is not a job, clowning around, going on stage is not a job'”, he revealed to our colleagues. If by his success he proves that he was right to follow his dreams, the one who has been fighting against illnesses for many years has nevertheless admitted that his career choice has somewhat tainted his relationship with his dad.

“I believe that we always need to adopt our children and our parents, whether they are biological or not. It took me a long time to adopt my parents and my father especially”he confided before adding that, through cinema, he “likes to fix people, situations and the world, because in life, that’s not how it is”.
