CF Montreal will begin training camp with 29 players on Monday morning

A group of 29 players will take part in the first training session of CF Montreal’s 2023 camp on Monday morning at Olympic Stadium.

This will be the Montreal organization’s very first training camp under new head coach Hernan Losada. The latter was appointed to the post a few days before Christmas, replacing Wilfried Nancy, who will lead the Columbus Crew.

Goalkeepers Logan Ketterer and Jonathan Sirois, defenders Zachary Brault-Guillard, Rudy Camacho, George Campbell and Aaron Herrera, midfielders Jean Aniel-Assi, Mathieu Choinière, Ahmed Hamdi, Jojea Kwizera, Lassi Lappalainen, Matko Miljevic, Sean Rea , Nathan Saliba, Joaquín Torres, Victor Wanyama and Rida Zouhir, as well as attackers Kei Kamara, Sunusi Ibrahim, Romell Quioto and Mason Toye will be present.

Five players from the Academy, namely Jefferson Alphonse, Gabriel Antinoro, Loïc Cloutier, Malick Daouda and Matisse Hébert were also invited to participate in the first team camp.

The players selected by the club in the last MLS draft, namely Milo Garvanian, Ousman Jabang and Nick Christoffersen, will also be on trial on Monday.

In addition, Canadian players who participated in the last FIFA World Cup will benefit from an additional period of leave.

Goalkeeper James Pantemis, as well as defenders Kamal Miller and Joel Waterman will join the group starting January 13, while midfielder Samuel Piette will rejoin his teammates on January 16.

Central defender Róbert Thorkelsson will also be absent for the start of the camp in Montreal as he has been selected by the senior Icelandic national team for two friendlies which will be played in Portugal, today against Estonia and Thursday against Sweden. . He will be back in Montreal on January 13.
