Shame on Rolling Stone magazine

Celine Dion, the singer who has accumulated 27 albums on the counter sold more than 200 million copies, winner of 7 Grammy Awards, does not appear in the ranking of the American magazine RollingStone of the 200 greatest singers of all time.

By shamelessly excluding Celine Dion from this select list, the magazine RollingStone committed an inadmissible, even shameless blunder. In the eyes of the team RollingStone, the originality, the influence, the depth of the catalog and the extent of the musical heritage are the factors which made it possible to establish this classification. However, it seems that the “diva” does not meet these criteria. Absolutely outrageous!

And yet, in the 1990s, she achieved planetary stardom, notably producing two albums which are among the best-selling in the history of the music industry, Falling into You in 1996 and Let’s Talk about Love in 1997, each sold more than 30 million copies worldwide. She recorded several major international successes which culminated, in particular my heart Will Go Onmovie song titanic in 1997.

In 2003, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry honored him for the sale of more than 50 million albums in Europe. At the 2007 World Music Awards, she received the Legend Award in recognition of her “global success and for her outstanding contribution to the music industry”. In this vein, she won the Billboard Icon Award at the Billboard Music Awards in 2016, which rewards her entire career.

Céline has been an international icon for decades. The “extent of his musical heritage” is immeasurable. In all professional conscience and in all fairness to the diva, the team of RollingStone must repair this blunder and include Celine Dion at least in the ten best singers and singers of all time, failing which the credibility of the magazine will be seriously damaged.
