Self-acceptance | I love myself. You love yourself. She loves herself.

Ladies, this year, I wish us to love our bodies. To love us. I am enraged to see so many women denigrating themselves and having a negative image of their body.


Instead of a gym membership that comes with a weight loss goal, I would like everyone to choose this year to rethink their relationship to the body. It costs less and the chances of getting something really positive out of it are, I like to believe, greater.

The performance and consumer society requires us to see our body as something that must constantly be improved. We spend a lot of time identifying our flaws. For many, it even becomes real obsessions.

See yourself beautiful and unique

We often make it public. We point out all our imperfections to whoever wants to see them. I’m sure you know the physical “complexes” of most of your friends. Otherwise, you’ve probably heard someone introduce themselves lately pointing out that they have oily hair, a few extra pounds, or a few pimples on their forehead.

Why can’t we instead celebrate what makes us beautiful and unique?

I would like to hear more women bragging about the color of their eyes, the softness of their skin, having a mole in a sexy place, having a good hair dayetc.

I would like that to be what we focus on when we look in the mirror. The idea is simply to take up the old concept of seeing the glass half full instead of seeing it half empty.

Let’s move instead of looking at the scale

If we really want to change our relationship to the body, this year we should also abandon the scale. Weight is an indicator that hasn’t been a great friend to us. We have given it far too much space in our lives for several generations. He never gave us any gifts…

Our body is the cradle of our energy. We have to take care of it if we want it to continue to do “mileage” in optimal conditions.

Taking care of it means getting it moving, getting to know and respecting its limits as well as understanding what makes it feel good and what it likes.

The idea: every minute more than the day before that we take to be in motion is a minute gained. It’s one more step towards knowing our body and towards a healthier relationship with it.

In 2023, let’s highlight, loud and clear, what makes us unique; let’s forget the balance in our wardrobes and move to the rhythm of simplicity and pleasure. The body thus becomes the vehicle of being in its fullness rather than a ball and chain that we drag along by hanging on it several futile resolutions or impossible aspirations.
