2022 will certainly remain a great vintage for Angèle. After the first was a monumental hit on her debut album, the Belgian confirmed her immense talent with the release of her second opus. Released at the end of 2021, Nonante-five has crossed the bar of 300,000 copies sold, an incredible triple platinum disc. Its reissue also contributed to this success, in particular with the presence of the duo in the company of Orelsan on “Évidemment”. And what about the tour that followed and which was also a huge success: two concerts at La Défense Arena in Paris (72,000 spectators!), four at Forest National (32,000 people) and one at the Sportpaleis where they were 17 000 to have come to applaud him on stage.
Proud of her success, Angèle is above all delighted to share this with her live audience. “Personally, if it’s just a matter of numbers, selling albums and getting rewards, it’s really great. But this is indeed not what nourishes me deeply”, she explained in an interview with RTL Info. “There are times when without doing concerts, it didn’t make much sense to just be famous”, she added.
To start the year, RTL2 chose to post on Instagram the video of a superb cover that the Belgian had come to offer in the studios on avenue Charles de Gaulle in Neuilly. We see the singer interpreting the famous “Don’t speak”, from the group No Doubt. This song was one of the hits of 1996 and propelled Gwen Stefani to the top of the charts.
