Darcy Kuemper gave his team a sixth straight road win by shutout.

Darcy Kuemper was perfect on 32 shots as the Washington Capitals shut out the New York Rangers 4-0 on Tuesday night.

The Capitals have posted a sixth straight road win and have won 10 of their last 11 outings. The Washington squad has been 13-3-1 since Nov. 23.

Marcus Johansson, Erik Gustafsson, Lars Eller and Conor Sheary moved the ropes for the Capitals, who set the tone by taking advantage of a two-man power play to open the scoring midway through the first period.

Kuemper improved his career record against the Rangers to 7-1-0 and recorded his third shutout this season. The 32-year-old goaltender came to Washington after helping the Colorado Avalanche lift the Stanley Cup earlier in 2022.

Igor Shesterkin gave up three times on 29 shots for the Rangers, who had just won their last four home games.

Alex DeBrincat scored the only goal in the shootout.

Alex DeBrincat scored the only goal in the shootout and the Ottawa Senators snapped a three-game losing streak by defeating the Boston Bruins 3-2 on Tuesday night.

DeBrincat and Tim Stutzle threaded the needle in the second period for the Senators, who saw Cam Talbot shine with 49 saves, including 26 in the final period.

Jake DeBrusk and Pavel Zacha replied in regulation time for the Bruins, who tied the game 2-2 with 3:33 remaining in the third period. Jeremy Swayman stopped 31 pucks.

Both teams allowed no goals in the first period, although the Senators got two breakaway chances from Brady Tkachuk and Stutzle.

In the second period, Patrice Bergeron thought he had given the Bruins a 1-0 lead, but the video replay confirmed that the sequence was offside.

Stutzle scored a goal that counted on the power play, but DeBrusk replied just over two minutes later. DeBrincat gave the Senators a one-goal lead just three minutes later.

Senators forward Drake Batherson assisted in both of his team’s goals and extended his one-point streak to 11 games. It’s the team’s longest winning streak since Jason Spezza’s 11 straight games in the 2011-12 season.
