NBA | Raptors’ Pascal Siakam named East Player of the Week

Pascal Siakam of the Toronto Raptors was named the NBA East Player of the Week on Monday.

Siakam led the East with 38.7 points on average in three games. He also averaged 10.3 rebounds and 7.3 assists.

The 28-year-old Cameroonian had 38 points and 15 rebounds last Monday in Philadelphia, where Toronto lost in overtime.

On Wednesday, Siakam set a career-high 52 points, helping the team win 113-106 against the Knicks in New York.

Siakam became the fifth player in Raptors history to deliver a game of at least 50 points (after Vince Carter, Terrence Ross, DeMar DeRozan and Fred VanVleet).

On Friday, he added 26 points in a 118-107 win over the Cavaliers in Cleveland.

This season, Siakam has averaged 26.2 points, 8.5 rebounds and 6.9 assists.

He is among only three players who lead their team in all three categories along with Nikola Jokic of the Nuggets and Luka Doncic of the Mavericks.

The honor in the West also went to Doncic on Monday.

He averaged 31.5 points, eight rebounds and nine assists.
