A magnitude 3.1 earthquake shakes Charlevoix

Earthquakes Canada confirms what some people in the Charlevoix region may have felt early Sunday morning: there was indeed an earthquake.

The federal agency reports an earthquake of magnitude 3.1 which occurred at 4:51 a.m. on Sunday morning, about ten kilometers southeast of Baie-Saint-Paul.

According to the summary provided by Earthquakes Canada, the tremor was “slightly felt” in the Charlevoix region.

However, no damage was reported, and the federal agency maintains that there should not have been any.
