Murder of Nitchell Lapaix in 2021 | Two suspects arrested

Important outcome in the long-term investigation into the murder of Nitchell Lapaix: two suspects well known to the police have been arrested in connection with the case. The 27-year-old victim shot dead in the summer of 2021 was considered by the police to be the right arm of gang leader Jean-Philippe Célestin.


Sylvain Kabbouchi and Tareck Youssef Baydoun will appear during the day at the Montreal courthouse. The 23 and 27 year old suspects will be charged with first degree murder.

Lapaix was near the Crazy Moon strip bar in Laval on August 17, 2021 when he was targeted by several firearm projectiles.

Nitchell Lapaix, alias Crank, was allegedly a lieutenant of gang leader Jean-Philippe Célestin, according to our police sources.

He was found on the ground seriously injured and his death was pronounced on the spot.
