The journalist and the First Lady are friends. And this friendship dates back several years, long before Emmanuel Macron was President of the Republic. At that time, she was a French teacher. In one of her classes, she had as a pupil, Joseph, the youngest of her three boys, born of her relationship with Diane Mac Mahon. The 23-year-old is still in contact with his former teacher, who was “extraordinary”. “She played a role with her students. She was charismatic, there is nothing to do and she kept in touch with her students”explained the one who was affected by cancer of the jaw.
“I knew her, as well as her husband, in a context that had absolutely nothing to do with politics”he revealed, adding that the current head of state, who is in Qatar with his wife to support the Blues “was very far from the Ministry of Economy”. “Nobody is friends with the President of the Republic, that does not exist (…) We know them but we do not pat each other on the shoulder and then it is another area, another story”. The 70-year-old took the opportunity to say that friendship with Brigitte Macron “is not instrumentalized” and that he does not need to “phone her every ten minutes to try to get information, to find out what her husband is doing …”
