(Montreal) Montreal police are investigating a suspicious death and an attempted murder, after two women were seriously injured by gunshots in an apartment in the southwest of the city, on the night of Wednesday to Thursday.
One of the victims, a 73-year-old lady, succumbed to her injuries, confirmed early Thursday morning the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM). The second victim, a 22-year-old woman, was still in critical condition in hospital.
The police found the two women inside a dwelling on rue Mullins, near rue Charlevoix, in the Pointe-Saint-Charles district, following a call made to 911 around 2:40 a.m. for Gunshots.
The SPVM claims to have found casings in the apartment.
A security perimeter has been erected in the area of rue Mullins, which is currently closed to traffic between rue Charlevoix and rue d’Hibernia.
The investigation is continuing to clarify the circumstances. Forensic identification technicians must go to the scene to analyze the scene.
The police have not made any arrests at this time.
