[PHOTOS] Montreal: two women victims of a double murder attempt

Two women are fighting for their lives after being victims of a double attempted murder that occurred on the night of Wednesday to Thursday in the Montreal district of Pointe-Saint-Charles.

911 calls alerted police to gunshots at a building on Mullins Street, near Charlevoix Street.

The police dispatched to the scene found inside an apartment two women aged 22 and 73 with gunshot wounds.

Both victims were rushed to a hospital where they are in critical condition.

“For the moment, we fear for their lives,” said spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), Jean-Pierre Brabant.

A security perimeter was erected on rue Mullins, closed between rue d’Hibernia and rue Charlevoix, to allow SPVM investigators to carry out their work.

The canine squad was also requested on the scene to help comb the area in search of clues, added the agent Brabant, specifying that no suspect was arrested.
