At 85, Jean-Pierre Elkabbach has a 50-year career in the world of journalism and the press. Passed by major media such as Europe 1 or CNews, the one who covered emblematic events such as the election of François Mitterand or that of Emmanuel Macron today signs a work full stop called “Les Rives de la mémoire” published by “Bouquins” which retraces precisely five decades of his life and discusses his most beautiful and great encounters.
This Tuesday, December 13, 2022, he was therefore on the set of “Daily” on TMC to promote this book. “I don’t want to make you look like an old crouton, but I still think I can say that when you started out as a journalist, the Quatennens affair wouldn’t have existed because slapping his wife wasn’t really a problem” launched the columnist Maïa Mazaurette. After talking about the fall of Patrick Poivre d’Arvor, whom Jean-Pierre Elkabbach had also placed at the head of the JT on Antenne 2, the columnist also mentioned the #MeToo movement before launching: “How could you be a feminist in a world that was absolutely not?”.
“It has been marked since my childhood. And then it also allows me to say that the past illuminates the present. […] But you mentioned PPDA. I’m not going to push him further into the tragic fate he made for himself, but when I named him, […] he was not the next PPDA. It was when he settled for twenty years at TF1 that, little by little, he became what we saw. replied Jean-Pierre Elkabbach before adding: “It’s the power, it’s the atmosphere, first of all his temperament, the search for conquests quickly negotiated and settled and on the other hand also the behavior of certain young women, as for the singers, who come to seek them …but he probably overdid it and overdid it considerably.”
An answer that shocked the set and under the amazed gaze of Yann Barthès, Maïa Mazaurette retorted: “Do you understand that we can be a little shocked by what you have just said?”. On social networks, this release has of course reacted to viewers who have expressed their disgust and anger en masse.
#DailyI like you, but #Elkabbach coasting, that’s a big NO. thanks to @MaiaMazaurette to have reacted to #PPDA. Big discomfort all the same. As they say: do better!

Mr Elkabbach, it is because of speeches like yours that many victims today are not taken seriously or prefer to remain silent. Disgusting #daily

Oklm Elkabbach on #Daily which shows that PPDA now has a tragic destiny, then that hey, if women didn’t flirt with the stars, they wouldn’t get raped… All is well! Honestly let him retire and shut his mouth!!
