Friends or foes? This is the question that everyone was asking when Alexia Laroche-Joubert and Sylvie Tellier were at each other’s throats in the middle of a press conference. The “dispute” broke out after the question of a colleague who asked the two protagonists if they were “angry”. “I have a 9mm under the table”quipped the one who was elected Miss France 2022 before ensuring that everything was fine between them: “I made the choice to leave the organization. I am delighted that Alexia will resume my duties. I will remain Miss France all my life.” Moment then chosen by the new president of the Miss France Society to rectify: “Sylvie was not working on the production of the show but on the Miss France competition”.
A statement that then made Sylvie Tellier come out of her hinges. “Excuse me?! I can’t let you say that. I was the general manager and I worked on the show for 17 years. There you upset me… I have a lot of respect for you but you have to also have some on the work that has been done for 17 years”lamented the ex-beauty queen before adding: “The Misses don’t belong to anyone”. “You mean you’re not mine?!”tried to ironize Alexia Laroche-Joubert who does not seem to have succeeded in relaxing the atmosphere. “Oh la la, sorry, I’m having a hard time”she finally concluded.
Sylvie Tellier and Alexia Laroche-Joubert, “friends”
But since this spat, what about their relationship? Precisely, Philippe Vandel questioned Sylvie Tellier on this subject when she came to European 1. “I understand the passion and desire of some of your colleagues to talk about it […] there was a verbal fight that day, afterwards, it was not the reflection of what is happening with Alexia”, immediately assured the one leaving the Committee before specifying: “That we disagree, it’s normal, and that I really want to clarify what my role was for 17 years. Let’s remember that Alexia Laroche-Joubert arrived at the presidency of Miss France, it’s the second year, it was a way for me to re-specify.”
Everything would go very well between the two. Especially since Sylvie Tellier explains “that we can get along very well and like to clarify things, I am a woman of precision and excellence […] we are not angry with Alexia, not at all, we are two women of character […] you can’t always agree without being angry.” End of the story !
