On May 16, the mask was no longer mandatory in public transport. A few months earlier, the obligation had been lifted in closed places such as businesses, schools, public services, shops, cinemas, theaters, museums…
But for several weeks, the story begins to change more and more. Members of the government regularly insist on the importance of wearing a mask in closed and very busy places… especially with a health situation that is deteriorating a little more each day.
François Braun, Minister of Health, had notably declared at the microphone of BFM TVon Sunday December 4th : “If we keep increasing the infections, my arm won’t shake if we have to decide on the obligation of the mask, including in all circumstances, if we were to reach that level”.
Saturday, December 10, on the set of what time on France 2, the subject was discussed with the presence of Minister Clément Beaune. He urged the politician to reinstate masks in transport. “What are you waiting for? People are dying again! There are going to be people in the hallways on stretchers in hospitals!” To which the guest replied: “We have to be balanced. We are not in the situation we have known. Today we know the barrier gestures and we inform the population”. Before Léa Salamé’s sidekick interrupts her by saying vehemently: “We are not in the same situation yet, but we will be! Everyone is shaking hands now. We must reimpose the mask!”
