Shortstop Corey Seager has agreed to a 10-year, $ 325 million contract with the Texas Rangers, according to a person familiar with the matter.
The person confided in anonymously, as the pact is subject to a successful medical examination.
The 2020 World Series MVP, Seager was part of two all-star teams in seven seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Seager has hit for .306 in 95 games this year, with 16 homers and 57 RBIs.
He broke a finger on his right hand when shot on May 15, then missing two and a half months.
Seager’s deal is the most lucrative in Ranger history.
The only highest paying contracts in major league baseball are those of Mike Trout (426.5 million), Mookie Betts (365 million), Fernando Tatis (340 million) and Bryce Harper (330 million).
