Fitzgibbon Hunting Party | Opposition calls for another inquiry

(Quebec) The opposition is asking the Ethics Commissioner to investigate Minister Pierre Fitzgibbon’s visit to an island owned by wealthy businessmen.

Quebecor reports that the Minister of the Economy would have taken part in a pheasant hunting party in October on the island of the Province, at Lake Memphremagog. However, this island is a private club accessible by invitation only. This information has not been confirmed by The Canadian Press.

Through his spokesperson, the minister refused to answer Quebecor’s questions about his stay.

In a press conference Thursday morning in Parliament, Liberal leader Marc Tanguay confirmed that he was asking the Ethics Commissioner of the National Assembly to investigate.

Similarly, MP Vincent Marissal, from Québec solidaire, indicated that his party was in the process of drafting an official request for an investigation addressed to the Ethics Commissioner.
