“If I don’t have a child yet, it’s for some reason that belongs to me and I won’t tell you“Laury Thilleman (Miss France 2011) had launched to a journalist who dared to ask her a question about her desires (or not) for maternity. A cash response which shows the annoyance of the beautiful brunette in the face of the pressure she sometimes suffered. Married to Juan Arbelaez, former candidate of Top chef (2012), the 30-year-old broached this subject again during her podcast How do you do ?. She revealed that she was wrongly announced pregnant.
It’s not easy to appreciate congratulations on a pregnancy that doesn’t exist. This is exactly what Laury Thilleman experienced this summer. A striking anecdote that says a lot about the bad things social networks can sometimes have. “It’s July 2nd. I post a banal photo of a friend and I, out of the beach, to celebrate the start of the vacation. And there is the drama: a flood of comments, congratulations and articles announcing my pregnancy fall on the web“Says the pretty host.
Having to face what she calls “a delirium“, Laury Thilleman says:”I even wonder if I’m not really pregnant, people are so convinced that I am.“These remarks and congratulations are a nightmare for her.”For the first time in my life, I feel dispossessed of my body, my ovaries, my period, my own cycle. Of my life in fact! (…) As if I couldn’t gain 2 kilos, quietly, during my vacation. Seriously, when are we going to give up on us with this? We are congratulated when we lose weight and we are told about our own pregnancy when we gain fat.“
If Laury Thilleman had put the journalist in his place, it was because he had implied that the couple’s very busy schedules were the reason why they had not yet decided to start a family. As if lovers couldn’t have the right to just maybe wait a little while before having a child.
Hopefully after this new update, Laury Thilleman will no longer have to deal with these inappropriate remarks.
