A series of shootings shook several areas of Montreal on Sunday evening.

After the shooting that targeted a 38-year-old man around 7 p.m. in the Atwater metro station, other shots were fired in Westmount and Saint-Léonard.

Calls to 911 alerted the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) around 9:30 p.m. to shots heard on rue Jean-Nicolet, near boulevard Robert.

When they arrived at the scene, the police found several casings on the ground and traces of impacts on two parked vehicles as well as on the window of a business.

However, the police did not locate either victim or suspect, said SPVM spokesperson Raphaël Bergeron.

The canine unit and forensic identification technicians were dispatched to the scene to collect information or evidence to advance the investigation.

Shooting in Westmount

Later that evening, around 11:30 p.m., another shooting erupted on The Boulevard near Victoria Avenue.

An individual who approached a building discharged his weapon on the two entrance doors, before fleeing on foot.

No one was injured, according to the Montreal police, which specifies that the suspect has not yet been identified.

The police were to meet with the occupants of the building to see if they had been under any threat lately.

Surveillance cameras will be viewed in an attempt to identify the suspect and the investigation is continuing, it was added.
