“I know times are tough”, Sophie Davant moves with a long Instagram message, her appeal to the French!

Under the sponsorship this year of humorist and actor Kev Adams, who succeeds the singer Soprano, the 36e edition of the telethon takes place at the beginning of December throughout France but also abroad and is broadcast live on the channels of France Television. The goal ? Raising funds for the benefit of research and the fight against rare diseases, in particular myopathies. Created in 1987, Laurence Tiennot-Herment, president of the AFM-Téléthon, recalls the fundamentals: “Genetic diseases destroyed the lives of our children and our families. To fight them, we had nothing: neither means, nor treatments. There was no question of resigning ourselves and we created the Telethon. We wanted to give life to research that did not exist. We wanted to revolutionize medicine. Year after year, thanks to your faithful support, we have succeeded,” she explains on the association’s website (afm-telethon.fr).

“We don’t give up !”

Faithful among the faithful, Sophie Davant did not fail to renew all her support for the event and launched, this Friday, December 2, a call from her Instagram account: “I am revising! The telethon starts tonight on @france2 at 6:30 p.m., then on @france3 at 9 p.m. with @cyrilferaud-off @naguiiiiiii @lauratenoudji and many other animators… I know times are tough. More than ever, I know it too, you will know how to be supportive and generous. We don’t give up! There are plenty of ways to express your generosity: by making a donation, #3637, by going to telethon.fr, by participating in a demonstration on the ground, by buying a raffle ticket on the website stars-solidaires.com ! Patients are counting on you! Thankyou!”. As a reminder, in 2021, the 35th edition had raised some 85.93 million euros.
