nostalgia weekend

Dozens and dozens of enthusiasts flock to the Rossignol workshop in Cissé, in Vienne, this weekend of October 23-24. Everything is for sale there: geography maps, thematic panels on various subjects: the history of France, the house or the life of the snail … Philippe Rossignol liquidates his stocks before retiring for good. “I don’t have the place to keep everything, he explains, and I’d rather people take advantage of it, think of my parents when they look at their cards. ”

Back to childhood

In front of the tables filled with posters, some of which even bear traces of ink left by schoolchildren, Marie-Thérèse, octogenarian, does not hide her emotion. “I like it, it reminds me of my youth school, we only worked with cards, signs like that“, she breathes. A little further, Marie-Hélène is ecstatic in front of the speech tables.”It’s nostalgia but happy nostalgia“, she specifies, a smile in her voice. For his part, Bruno leaves with four cards under his arm which he presents as”pieces of our history“.

The hope of a Rossignol museum

Philippe Rossignol happily advises everyone, happy to share his memories with others. “The Rossignol editions started in 1946“, he recalls. He took over in 1987 and ceased his activities at the end of 2020. He is now putting everything in order for his retirement and among his latest projects, one is particularly close to his heart : that of a museum. To do this, he bequeathed part of his stocks to the town of Montmorillon, the town of origin of the Rossignol editions, and hopes soon that a Rossignol museum will be created there.
