France Sunday : Why did you agree to participate in the Super Mamie 2022 competition as a juror?
Eve Angeli : For the popular side and the family side, my grandmother for me was very important. My maternal grandmother, of Italian origin, I haven’t had her for years, so the idea of paying tribute to all the grandmothers to elect the best granny I find very endearing. We all have a grandmother whether she is dead or still alive, we all have this memory of a grandmother. When we no longer have it, we really realize that they are pillars in a family. So it’s a form of respect for me to pay tribute to great ladies, and in addition, their talents will be honored during the ceremony, it will show that it’s not because we have the older you get, the more talent you have!

FD : What vivid memories do you have of your grandmother? What image do you keep of her?
My grandmother told me all about her youth, what she had been through, she was like an open book and that’s what I loved. She passed on to me her Italian romantic side, she knew how to tell stories, she sang Tino Rossi, it was she who passed on to me the love of music. My grandmother is my guardian angel, I feel like she watches over me. I was 22 when she left, I know that when I think of her, she sends me signs.
FD : What will be your role vis-à-vis the candidates?
I took part in a lot of singing competitions before being known so I know the pressure of the competitions… And still today, it’s a job where there is competition, so I’m going to try to bring advice so that they do not stress too much!

FD : In a recent interview you explained that you became a grandmother before becoming a mother…
Yes exactly ! It’s a very interesting role. We only have pleasure when we see the baby, not the constraints (laughs) ! It’s nice not having to deal with sleepless nights, education, and just primping when I see him!
FD : How did you feel about becoming a step-grandmother at such a young age? What grandmother are you?
I have to admit it freaked me out (laughs), we didn’t have the mom stage, we think we’re super young in our head and suddenly life reframes us “you’re a grandmother!” », I had to pass a course quickly. I didn’t have the logical step of being first a mother then a grandmother, it’s unconventional, but I do everything backwards so I’m not surprised by this fate. I am the good friend grandmother!
FD : Do you still have a desire for motherhood?
Yes more than ever, it turns to obsession. When I was young it didn’t happen because I was focused on my career and I had no idea it would be so difficult to let the years go by. Today, I really have this desire for a child! If they had told me “be careful, don’t wait too long” – which they didn’t tell me – I wouldn’t have waited so long. But I hadn’t met the man of my life, the one with whom I was planning a child, for me you really have to meet the chosen one to feel ready.
FD : What are your future projects or your wishes for future projects?
I have my new album, “Je sème”, with twelve unreleased tracks coming out today, the perfume “Simplement Ève” and the pillow mist, to help relax and release pressure. I am really in a process of well-being. I need to refocus on the essentials and gain more serenity to free myself and finally get pregnant.
