To die, again, in indifference… the senseless policies attributable to certain health leaders, engendered or tolerated by the Legault government, are still and still in force to this day in the health network. As proof, the CHUM, which prevented, for more than two weeks, any visit to its geriatrics floor! As a result, my 94-year-old mother could not have anyone at her bedside during the most distressing moments of her life. And here, I’m not talking about the health workers who struggle in the field and do extraordinary work, I’m talking about the people sitting behind their desks and who make decisions that go against all humanism and the primary role of the health system, namely to relieve and care for its beneficiaries. It is a cry from the heart that I launch, exasperated and torn that I am, so that these absurd policies stop! How many more people are you going to let die in indifference? In the absence of their loved ones, in the absence of the last testimonies of love and recognition to which they are entitled, in a bureaucracy padlocked by a lack of humanity.
