(Los Angeles) Soon Halloween and it’s an eponymous film that tops the North American box office this weekend: Halloween kills raises more than $ 50 million for its launch, according to provisional estimates by the specialist firm Exhibitor Relations published on Sunday.
This is the best performance for a horror film upon its release during the pandemic, ahead of A Quiet Place Part II (47.5 million). This is despite the fact that the film was released simultaneously on the Peacock streaming platform.
Halloween kills, continued from Halloween of 2018, again stars Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode opposite Nick Castle (the ugly Michael Myers).
Second at the box office, down sharply from last week, the latest James Bond, No Time to Die with 24.3 million. This will be Daniel Craig’s final participation in the saga of the famous British spy.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage is third with 16.5 million. Tom Hardy plays investigative journalist Eddie Brock, whose symbiotic bond with an alien called Venom gives him superpowers.
In fourth position, we find The Addams Family 2, which raises $ 7.2 million.
And fifth, The Last Duel by Ridley Scott with $ 4.8 million. Matt Damon, Adam Driver and Ben Affleck star in this film set in France from the 14the century.
