Once again, the Coteau d’Aix-en-Provence from Château Revelette is a great success, and very good value for money.
A blend of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon above all, with a little Grenache, Carignan and Counoise, it is vinified with 60% whole bunches.
The nose opens with notes of very ripe fruit — raspberry, blackberry, blackcurrant — with notes of anise and garrigue, a hint of flowers, leather and black olive.
The mouth is rich and fleshy, but also shows a lot of freshness and brilliance. Very fine, but firm tannins stretch on a tight finish, with a stony impression.
Delicious, it appeals to the table where it will shine with a leg of lamb or lamb chops with herbs, duck confit, couscous with merguez.
