And certainly not Martine Henry, mother of Jonathann Daval, found guilty and sentenced to 25 years in prison for the murder of his partner Alexia. But for a few weeks, Martine Henry has decided to come out of silence to talk about her son, who would have found love in prison since.

It was during an interview for the Sunday newspaper that Jonathann Daval’s mother spoke for the first time on the occasion of the upcoming release of the book Me, mum of Jonathann. This assured our colleagues that she was living a “waking nightmare” from “the night of October 28 to 29, 2017”. “Reality is always more complicated”she insists before assuring that “Jonathann is not a monster, even if what he did is – monstrous”. A reaction, and a speech, completely acceptable for a mother who recognizes, despite everything, that her act cannot be forgiven.

Worse still, she feels a lot of guilt since the tragedy: “After such a tragedy, we see everything that has happened since childhood and we question ourselves”.

Weeks, months, and especially complicated years for the mother of Jonathann Daval who, although she remains aware that the act committed by her son is monstrous, will always defend the latter by ensuring that he himself is not a monster. She will do it again this Thursday, November 17 against Cyril Hanouna and his team, during his visit to TPMP.
