disturbances linked to strikes this Monday in Picardy

It is a black Monday for transport in Picardy : several strike movements at the SNCF as well as at Transdev (Courriers Automobiles Picards and Cabaro) will disrupt the circulation of TER, interurban bus lines and school buses.

“Very disturbed” circulation of TER

A movement of SNCF drivers’ strike will seriously disrupt the circulation of TER passing through Amiens at least this Monday, and potentially the following days, with renewable notice. “Traffic will be very heavily disrupted on these lines from Monday”, specifies the SNCF. As of this Sunday evening, some trains could be disrupted.

Links with the capital but also the rest of Hauts-de-France are affected by this disengagement:

  • Paris – Amiens – Calais
  • Amiens – Abancourt – Rouen
  • Amiens – Abbeville – Calais
  • Amiens – Albert – Arras
  • Amiens – Compiègne
  • Amiens – St Quentin – Laon

Buses and school transport disrupted

A new movement of strike at Transdev causes disruptions on several bus and school bus networks in the Somme and Oise, at the Courriers Automobiles Picards and Cabaro subsidiaries. Half of the teams declared themselves strikers at Courriers Automobiles Picards, or more than 120 drivers assigned to Abbeville, Noyon and Rivery. The movement is less followed in the Oise at Transdev Cabaro with around sixty strikers out of more than 200 drivers: the TRIO 1 and 3 networks will still be affected by the disturbances, in the Beauvaisis and Noyon sectors. In the Somme, this is the first time in two months that the walkout has taken place on a Monday, where the impact on coach traffic is stronger, because they say they are not heard by their management: this ensures to his side await the annual negotiations scheduled for December 17. Some of the strikers will gather at 6.30am this Monday at the bus depot located in Rivery, near Amiens. It has been now two months that the employees of Courriers Automobiles Picards unload in a pearl fashion, over one or two hours, to protest against their working conditions. They denounce “a lack of dialogue” with their management. If the unions initially demanded a Covid bonus and the recognition of the coronavirus as an occupational disease, they have now abandoned these demands.

The strikers always demand changes in the organization of work, with schedules that sometimes change at the last minute. They also denounce management problems, with bus drivers leaving without fuel in the tank, as well as non-compliance with branch and company agreements according to them.
