Sexual assault: André Boisclair did not walk far enough to get out of prison

Ex-politician André Boisclair is too dangerous to leave prison after serving one-sixth of his sentence, the Quebec Commission on Conditional Liberation has ruled, accusing him of refusing to undergo therapy for sex offenders.

“The Commission agrees from the outset that you are not forced to invest in the specialized program, but your decision carries its consequences”, can be read in a decision concerning the ousted politician convicted of violent sexual crimes.

Boisclair, 56, has been serving a sentence of two years less a day in prison since July in two separate sexual assault cases, one of which involves two other unidentified individuals, for acts that occurred in January 2014 and in November 2015.

The ousted politician had admitted having kept the first plaintiff, whose identity is protected by the court, in place by ordering a third person to enter him against his will.
