This trip will be an opportunity for Mme Biron to make his first official contacts with the French government.
She will reiterate to her French counterparts Quebec’s desire to pursue the “privileged and strategic relationship” between the two states and to diversify the economic partnerships on both sides of the Atlantic.
“We must continue to be strong allies on today’s major issues, including the status of women, youth, decarbonization and innovation,” the minister said in a press release.
During this mission, Mr.me Biron will notably meet with the Minister Delegate to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olivier Brecht. “Together, they will launch the 2023 Franco-Quebec Year of Innovation,” said Ms.me Biron.
As Minister for the Status of Women, she will also meet with her French counterpart, Isabelle Rome.
The objective of these meetings is to prepare the ground for the holding of the 21e Alternate meeting of Quebec and French Prime Ministers, which will take place in Quebec.
