The skateboarders of La Femme are surfing on the wave of current success of reggaeton and flamenco pop led by Rosalía by offering a fourth album in Spanish. But now, it’s not enough to master the rollers to convince… As a result, the French group navigates on sight on the offbeat humor that we have known about it since its beginnings. Teatro Lucido is it really only the echo of a caricature of Hispanic culture? The — almost — vulgar pieces Maialen, El Tio del Padul and El Conde Duquefor example, awkwardly sweat the ferias from Spain and south-west France, where the group is nevertheless from. In the same vein, we will quickly understand that La Femme has a crush on the term borracho, which means “drunk”, which we no longer count the quotes over the songs. Ah! The rehearsal comedy… If Teatro Lucido lack of authenticity, it must however be recognized that titles like There you go, contamination and Resaca are musically very interesting when listened to outside the context of the album. What a pity !
