A man was arrested Friday morning during a police intervention at Cégep Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu.
The police operation is still ongoing, but there were no injuries, confirmed the Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu police department.
Cegep management had sent a press release at 10 a.m. asking students and staff to barricade themselves in premises and turn off the lights.
Director General Nathalie Beaudoin wrote that a security perimeter had been erected and that no one could access the CEGEP.
The establishment’s activities have been canceled for the day.
