Work to extend Tram line 1 to the Sud de France station has begun

Work to extend tram line 1 from its current Odysseum terminus to the Sud de France station has started. It’s a little over two years.

Objective to connect the two stations together

In 2025 with the tram, it will be necessary 20 minutes to go from Saint Roch station to Sud de France stationbut for that it is necessary to build 1Km3 of additional lines whose particularity will be to pass above the A709 motorway.

The biggest and longest project is the construction of a new bridge with special dimensions, it will be almost as wide as it is long –34 meters wide and 36 meters long-. In addition to the tram, it will accommodate two road traffic lanes, cycle paths and walkways for pedestrians.

The extension of tram line 1 will be linked to the creation of a new bustram line which will serve the Cambacérès district, 300 hectares, half of which will be urbanized to accommodate businesses, 12,000 workers and 4,500 students.
