Three individuals wanted for possession of counterfeit banknotes

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have laid charges against three people involved in a network of counterfeit $100 bills Thursday morning in Ontario.

RCMP have confirmed charges have been laid against Raj Kirubananthan, 31, Jessica Mitchell, 38, and Blue Lawrence, 28.

In June 2022, the RCMP’s Transnational Serious and Organized Crime Section, GTA, received information from Home Depot that a group of individuals were going to various retailers to purchase products with the assistance of suspected counterfeit $100 bills.

After investigation, authorities have determined that the individuals involved in this case were returning products purchased using counterfeit notes to request a refund.

The three Ontarians have been charged with several offences, including conspiracy to commit crimes and uttering counterfeit money.

Arrest warrants have been issued for the three individuals.
