After honing his skills as an analyst during the NHL playoffs last season, former Montreal Canadiens star PK Subban has accepted the same full-time position with ESPN, announced the American network Thursday morning.
Subban, who announced his retirement from the sport last September, has ratified a three-year contract with ESPN. “He will essentially act as an in-studio analyst, but will also be called upon to cover certain games during the season,” it said.
“I knew it for a few weeks already. It’s been hard to keep the secret just to myself for so long. But I can’t wait, because it’s now official”, could we read in a text published on the ESPN website quoting Subban.
Subban, 33, played 13 NHL seasons with the Canadiens, Nashville Predators and New Jersey Devils. He has 115 goals and 467 points in 824 career regular season games.
The flamboyant hockey player also won the Norris Trophy, awarded to the NHL’s defenseman par excellence, with the Habs in 2013, and he participated in the Stanley Cup final series with the Predators in 2017.
