Quimper wins the funeral trophy. But what is it ? Well, this prize created this year rewards local authorities for their initiatives in the funeral sector. Quimper was therefore chosen from 75 applications. The capital of Cornwall offers second-hand monuments and funerary objects for sale. Headstones, tombstones, slabs or even crosses at low prices recovered when the concessions expire and are not renewed by their owners.
The catalog is available on the website
of the city of Quimper. And the prices are slashed: between 200 and 700 euros for a monument, against several thousand euros for a new one. “The idea was driven by users who wondered about the future of monuments in Quimper cemeteries when the concessions expire and are not renewed by their owners.explains the City in a press release. Beyond the ecological and responsible approach, this possibility of re-employment allows people on low incomes to offer burial at a lower cost to their deceased.”
The sale is accessible throughout the national territory and abroad.
