Live | What to remember from the midterm elections in the United States?

Americans went to the polls on Tuesday for a midterm election that holds special significance. The final results are still awaited, but the Republican “wave” anticipated by the polls does not seem to have occurred.

All 435 seats in the House of Representatives were at stake, as were 36 of the 100 seats in the Senate, where Republicans only need one more seat to squeeze a majority from Democrats.

By taking control of Congress, even in part, Republicans would be in a position to obstruct the policies of Democratic President Joe Biden.

To see more clearly, we take stock directly with Élisabeth Vallet, director of the Geopolitics Observatory of the Raoul-Dandurand Chair.
