Drug shortages are getting worse on Tuesday, November 8, and the list of missing products is growing in pharmacies. Among them, paracetamol, Ventolin and drugs of vital importance.

Pharmacy drawers are almost empty on Tuesday, November 8. “Usually it’s a lot fuller than that. There, it’s really the berezina, we don’t know what to say to people anymore”, explains Julien Lecante, pharmacist in Angoulême, Charente. He placed an order for drugs on Monday for his pharmacy, but more than half are unavailable. Doliprane and Efferalgan are out of stock.

For its customers, the risk of running out of certain products is worrying. “It’s one of the drugs that we are used to using as soon as we have pain somewhere. At the onset of winter, it’s annoying”, according to a client. Supply tensions seem incomprehensible. “Clearly, we do not manage to have clear, clear and precise explanations. With the flu coming, winter pathologies, it’s a problem”, testifies Jean-Philippe Brégère, president of the union of pharmacists of Charente. According to experts, this shortage is due to difficulties in the supply of raw materials or relocation.
