“I couldn’t wait to come” Gad Elmaleh opens with Reste un peu

“I was very excited to come” explains the comedian who heard about the Sarlat film festival from his film friends, including Roschdy Zem “a friend of 25 years”. Gad Elmaleh opened the Sarlat film festival on Tuesday 8 November. He met the near 600 high school students with a cinema option before presenting his film “Reste un peu” to the sold-out Périgord public at the Rex in Sarlat.

For an hour, he was the exceptional guest of France Bleu Périgord from the relocated studios at the Rex in Sarlat

His parents and his sister play their own role

In this second feature film, Gad Elmaleh shows another side. That of a man in search, who asks himself many questions about faith, spirituality and his identity “I could not have made this film before my fifties” explains the humorist who is interested in all religions and who has been taking theology courses in a monastery for two years. In this docu-fiction, he stages himself surrounded by his family and his friends and he recounts his desire to be baptized in order to convert to Catholicism, he who comes from a family of Sephardic Jews. Is it true ? Is this wrong, we will not know.

A theatrical release scheduled for November 16

The actor and director continues the screenings before the theatrical release of “Rest a little” planned everywhere in France on November 16th. Sarlat is only a stage but he took the time to answer all the questions and the requests for autographs from the spectators.

Gad Elmaleh has announced that he is taking part in Philippe Lacheau’s next film “Alibi 2”. In parallel with his film career, continues his career as a comedian.

A new session for “Reste un peu” is scheduled for Saturday, November 12 at 9:30 a.m.
