In Wendake, we are slowly but surely witnessing the rebirth of Wendat, a language that fell asleep at the beginning of the last century, submerged by Quebec French. If this project materializes, it will only be the third time in history that a nation has succeeded in resuscitating a dormant language. The problem is that the linguist who oversees the initiative is not unanimous and that new speakers risk learning the wrong language.
