A child from Shippagan died after an attack with a weapon

A 12-year-old child from Shippagan, New Brunswick died Friday night after a 15-year-old boy attacked him with a blunt object.

The altercation between the two young people occurred on November 4 in a park in Shippagan.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) officers were called to the scene, and discovered the child who had suffered serious facial injuries, possibly caused by a scooter.

He was taken to Children’s Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia, for treatment, but RCMP confirmed earlier Sunday morning that he died of his injuries.
