Thousands of customers of the online decoration and furniture site Made.com risk never receiving their order and never being refunded. The British specialist has gone bankrupt. Since this announcement, a Facebook group has been created to collect testimonials from customers who now feel helpless.

The move of a couple from Saint-Mandé (Val-de-Marne) turned into a nightmare. In September, newlyweds purchased eleven items from Made.com for their future home, but the furniture was never delivered. The couple, who must move in on December 7, paid 7,429 euros. Made.com, a design furniture site, is popular with consumers, but for two weeks, orders have not been fulfilled. On its site, the English company declares that it is waiting for the appointment of a judicial administrator.

In a few days, hundreds of worried customers came together in a collective via a Facebook group. In Paris, the brand’s only showroom has closed its doors. For Me Emma Léoty, consumer law lawyer, it is better to cancel the contract than to wait for a possible delivery. “If a consumer finds that it has not been delivered on the date that was set, they should send a registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt to the company in order to be able to obtain reimbursement of the costs they have advanced and to be able to request the cancellation of the contract they had signed.” Made.com’s stock has fallen 99% in one year. According to several specialists, getting delivered or reimbursed should prove to be complicated.
